I thought all of the firsts were almost done. I was wrong. I didn't think much about New Year's coming up. Even though Dennis and me loved a party we both weren't big New Year's Eve people. Now that it is here I feel incredibly sad today. It does not feel right starting a New Year with out Dennis in it. As bad as 2007 was it was the last year Dennis was here with us. I feel like I need to hold on to that. Then I need to think what Dennis would think. He would probably think a new year for the us and the kids to do and have more exciting times together. I will try my best for Dennis. We love you and miss you so much, Jodi, Alana, Elise, & Mia oxox (A new year will never be the same without Dennis Rich in this world!!!)
Jodi - I agree with you - How do you celebrate a new year?? I remember that being so hard for me the new year after my dad passed away - Everyone yelling "Happy New Year!" and I just didn't want to go to another year. Sometimes you don't want to keep going but, we all know you need to.
I wish for you for 2008 the strength that you need each day to go on for you and the girls and for Dennis' memory.
Keep doing what you are doing each and everyday. Keeping Dennis' memory alive for the girls and spending lots of time with all your family and close friends. Surrounding yourself with all of them does help. And, it keeps you going.
You and the girls are so Dennis. You are strong and wonderful just like him. And, a GREAT Mom!!!!
Think of all that as you walk into the new year 2008.
Thank You for putting a smile on my face!!! as I was reading this I remembered when Uncle Bob asked Nana for my hand in marriage it was New Years Eve at Auntie Darlene's house in Beachmont and Nana was laughing and said to him you ask me now? you already live together.LOL There will come times when you remember the good stuff without as much pain! First will come a smile from within then the tears but not so much pain. I remember the last New Years I spent with Bob it was ringing in 2000, we ate chinese food wore our hats and blew horns, and spent it with our kids. I look back at those pictures and smile now. I remember thinking wow what an amazing man he is. I think that Dennis and Uncle Bob were amazing men! Both cared about how what they were going through hurt everyone they loved, never worrying about themselves. They stayed strong and showed us how to hold up our heads and face the future head on showing NO fear only strength and courage. Well for 2008 I hope and pray for all of us to be able to grab and hold on to their strength to guide us through the up coming year and face the world Hungry for LIFE. Love you all so much. Auntie Paula
I can't believe the strength you have shown this past year, it was more than anyone should have to endure in a lifetime. You are an amazing mother and friend. I hope you can find some moments of peace in the New Year.
