I've wondered what he did on all those Spring Break trips! I have heard some stories and they all reminded me of these pictures.haha! He really did alot in his thirty-eight years, for that we can somehow feel happy. Mary
Mary you know what is funny. Those pictures aren't from spring break. This is kind of embarrising but that was one of our trip's we took together. Dennis and me went to Cozamel, Mexico with Jane and Mike. We already had Alana and Elise. That picture of Dennis is only about 2 hours after we arrived there. At the hotel where we we're staying at they we're having a drinking game. It was the guests against the hotel staff. So of course you know who volunteered to play the drinking game. Dennis held his own but I will say the staff there do this game day in and day out. Dennis didn't win the game as you can see from the last picture. The staff was giving him the loser sign with their hands and chanting loser. That's what they do when someone loses. Dennis was a good sport though. He might not of won but he sure made us laugh as usual and started the vacation off with a bang. Of course in typical Dennis fashion. He made everything so much fun. The rest of the vacation was a blast even though at times Dennis and Mike acted like they still were on spring break. So I guess having kids didn't seem to slow Dennis down. I miss how he approached every moment like it was going to be so much fun and because of that it truly was always the best time. I'm so glad I have that memory of that trip with Dennis. I miss you so much Dennis, Love Jodi oxox
Wow love the pics, Jodi Thanks for sharing that story it put a smile on my face but you are right he was always the life of the party, but you know that you too! are like him in that way!you were his perfect match! two people so much alike. Love You Auntie Paula
I knew there were pictures of this part of our trip somewhere!! Jodi is right- we were fresh off the airplane just hours into our trip when Dennis jumped into the "hotel staff versus hotel guests" drinking match. He actually did really well and made it past many others but in the end lost out to Juan the front desk clerk. Who knew that there is actually a place in this world where you can be totally drunk when you do your job!! Needless to say Dennis set the tone that day for the rest of the trip. Boys being boys and Jodi and I constantly pulling them right back in! We had SO many laughs that trip and we had so many stories to tell when we got back. I am so glad we pushed ourselves to make the trip especially when there were so many reasons not to go..ex: kids, work, money etc.. I will never forget day 1 of the trip picking Jodi and Dennis up at 430am for the airport and seeing how wide awake and pumped up Dennis was. I had coffee waiting for them and he was so impressed (it didnt take much!) He said he loved getting up that early and could see why I always took the early morning shift at work. He said he did his best thinking early morning. I dont know why but that statement always stands in my mind. I can't tell you how many times after that trip that my alarm has gone off at 3am for work and I have dreaded getting out of bed but I would often think of Dennis' love of the morning and it helps me to get moving. His enthusiasm that day still makes me smile. Boy- do I miss him Love always..Janie x0x0
