My Sponsor
This year at CCD, I will be receiving my confirmation. The person I chose to be my sponsor is my Uncle Dennis. There are many reasons why I picked him. He is an honest and trustworthy person. He constantly helps others and he is really easy to talk to. He is 37 years old but can relate to kids my age.
Last summer, my uncle took a chance and hired me to work for his construction company. I was only fifteen but he gave me the responsibilities of a grown man. You could really tell that he trusted me and he went out of his way to teach me as best as he could. He constantly tells me stories about himself as a teenager. He gives me really great advice and does it in a really funny way. One of the greatest things about my Uncle Dennis is his power of positive thinking. He was diagnosed with a rare form of heart cancer a year and a half ago and has been through some really tough treatments. He never complains or feels sorry for himself, instead he continues to act positive and go on living his life. He takes care of his wife and daughters and provides a good life for them. He is a strong man mentally and physically, and because of his illness I have learned to take each day and be thankful and I make sure I pray to God for him every night. I hope that I grow into the same kind of man as him.

Matt,
Your parents must be so proud of you. Dennis loved you and Christina from the time he met Jodi. He would come to our parents and talk about both of you all the time. He thought you were just awesome. He's still watching, so make him proud!
Mary (Dennis' sister)
Matt,
What a great story!! Remember to wear your football shirt for the big game tonight. Your Uncle Dennis will be looking for that. I wish we all had Patriots shirts like that to wear. You are a very special person to remember your Uncle in such special ways...
Debbie,
One of Dennis' cousins
Matt, Uncle Dennis was so proud and honored that you asked him to be your sponsor. More importantly he was so proud of the man you are becoming. He didn't take a chance on you to work for him. Dennis knew you would do a great job and he was right. You always will have a special place in his heart and the girls and my heart also. We love you Matt, Auntie Jodi & the girls oxox
