Dennis,
Christmas was just not the same this year. All the hustle and bustle at Ma's and still someone missing. We didn't forget you this year. I know you were there with us and I hope you have a happy holiday watching the girls open their presents. I love you. Katie
Dennis, Katie was exactly right. It was loud and the kids were all smiling and playing but, there was that feeling that someone was missing. I know you were there. We missed you so much. I will be thinking of you today. I love you. Merry Christmas! Love, Mary
Merry Christmas Jodi, Alana, Elise & Mia! I know Santa was great to you girls and you are very deserving! Give Mommy lots of love, hugs and kisses. I can't wait to see you today at Nana's!
Dennis- I had big shoes to fill this year and I hope I did alright. As sad as the day was (unbearable at times) there were so many joy filled moments. I spent the night at your house. I was instructed by Elise and Alana a few days ago on what my jobs were. They told me that you always put cookies out for Santa and the reindeer and that you set the video camera up. They never got out of bed in the morning until you woke them up and told them that Santa came. So on Christmas Eve I slept in Elise's bed while Kristina slept with Alana. Matt stayed downstairs on the couch by the Christmas tree looking out for Santa. The girls were so excited on Christmas morning when they woke up. I told them that Santa ate the cookies and they flew out of bed! Jodi had the camera running and the kids went crazy opening their gifts. Nana Arlene and Papa Charlie were there too. Thanks for the coffee papa! Mia went absolutely crazy for all her Dora and Diego toys. The hard part was finding a screwdriver small enough to open all the toys that needed batteries! Jodi and I were putting stuff together like pros. You would have been so proud of us. I made Jodi an ornament with your favorite family picture Den. I want you to know that Alana really loved it. They talk about you a lot. We had a really wonderful day at your parents house. You have such an incredible family. There was no other place I would have wanted to spend Christmas. Thoughts of you were so strong yesterday as they are everyday. I hope you were watching all of this and smiling. I want you to have peace and I want you to know that your wife was ok, your girls were ok and that your parents are alright. Your sisters, their husbands & children, Jimmy & Kathy are so wonderful and they are surrounding your parents with so much love and support. You have such an amazing family and I felt so blessed to share the day with all of them. You are missed more and more each day and it seems to be getting harder not easier but atleast we all have each other to cry with or lean on and I know that when each one of us look into the faces of your daughters we feel the pain of your loss but we also feel your presence and that helps us go on. You were the best and for that we will continue to do our best to honor you each and everyday. Elise is just like you..she wore her blond Hannah Montana wig into your parents house to make everyone laugh. She has that Dennis Rich style of entering a room with a bang! We love you & miss you...Janie xoxo
