Uncle Bob & The Great Wall of Hope

Most of you have seen the pictures of Dennis' Great Wall of Hope. It was an unbelievable tribute to my brother. What some of you don't know however, is that it was the second Great Wall of Hope in existence. The first was made to honor Uncle Bob. Our Uncle Bob had a tumor in his brain. At first it was removed and he underwent chemo and radiation treatments. He improved for about a year but the tumor came back and it was inoperable. He passed away on March 1, 2000.
The original Great Wall of Hope was my Auntie Paula's creation and it gave Bob the will to fight-- but mostly it just made him happy. Happy to see just how many people loved and cared about him, how many lives he touched, and how many memories he helped to make. He died knowing he was loved by so many people.
When Dennis was in the hospital, he wrote a note to my Auntie Paula and said that he was envious of Uncle Bob's Wall of Hope. Immediately after that day, Dennis' was created.
Uncle Bob was always close to Dennis and Jimmy. They always thought of him not only as an Uncle but also a friend. We will always miss Dennis and our Uncle Bob. They are two very special men.

Uncle Bob is on the bottom left in the photo below, which was taken on a paintballing trip with Dennis and Jimmy.

Thank You Katie! What a nice tribute to Uncle Bob and he would have been so envious of Dennis' wall. What was amazing to me was how quickly his wall was made and to the extreme that it was taken. Dennis was truly blessed to have such a close relationship with his family and his friends. The love that built that wall is "WONDERFUL"
When I saw Dennis after the wall was formed he pointed to me then the wall and gave me the thumbs up! So I know he LOVED it! I thank everyone that helped make The Wall of Hope for him.
Love Auntie Paula
