Hello Team Hungry For Life~
Let me begin by saying thank you for already raising $1K! I am so thankful to each and every one of you who have donated and/or helped to raise money for our team. Let's keep it going strong!
It looks like we have a lot of walkers thus far (almost 100 adults/children) but I would still like to keep recruiting more people. When I say the more the merrier, I truly mean it. If you have already confirmed with me that you are walking, feel free to invite some more of your family/friends to do so as well.
If you're still not sure about walking, let me try to convince you to join us. If it's the distance you're worried about (10K/6.2 miles) there are short-cuts along the way. Believe me, we took them the first time around! Secondly, if you are hesitant because you don't know me or my family-- don't be shy. This is a great way for us all to finally meet. Bring along some of your family/friends and we can all join together.
I also wanted to mention that Team Hungry For Life has already sparked some interest amongst the coordinators of the walk. Due to the sheer size of our team and because Dennis' story is so powerful, there is a good chance two local publications will pick up our story in the near future. This could increase donations for our team and will certainly raise awareness about the walk in general. Just another instance of Dennis' celebrity!
We will be deciding on Team Hungry For Life t-shirts soon. I will definitely keep you posted. They will most likely be blue. ☺
We are also working on a small get-together after the walk where we will have some food and drinks. Nothing fancy, just a chance to catch our breath and say hello to everyone before departing. Nothing is set in stone as of yet. We wanted the location to be as close as possible to the walk. We have an inkling of where we'd like to have it, but if anyone knows the Salem area and has any suggestions let me know.
I know the walk seems like a long way off but it will be here before we know it. Be sure to mark the date on your calendar-- Sunday, June 22nd.
Please continue to pass the Team Hungry For Life donations page along (there is a link in the sidebar). Email me if you want to be added to the team list or if you have any questions/concerns: bettslevine@metrocast.net
Thanks so much. I will continue to update everyone via this site.
I am looking forward to seeing you all in June. We will be one mighty group, that's for sure!

Are you looking for an outdoor location? Lynch Park in Beverly is an option. It has a huge lawn area, playgrounds and a small beach area. It also has a stage with a shell on it. Let me know if you want more info...
