A Cross for Uncle Dennis

This email was sent to me from my cousin, Rhonda, last week and I thought it was worth sharing.

Katie,
I wanted to tell you that me and the kids will be going to the cemetery today. My 6 year old, Madison, made a beautiful cross at CCD yesterday for Dennis. She come running out of church with a big smile on her face saying "Mom, I made a cross for Uncle Dennis." She always calls him "Uncle" instead of "my cousin".
Anyway, it's truly amazing how even the young kids loved him so much and understand how painful it is not having him here. So today we will bring the cross she made to him. I'm sure he is going to love it. I would like to take a picture of Madison here at my house with the cross as well as her wearing her Hungry For Life Bracelet before we head to the cemetery.
I just wanted to let you know that something special is going to be given to Dennis today.
Love,
Rhonda & Madison

Thank you so much for sharing Madison's picture/gift for Dennis with everyone.

She has a heart of gold just like Dennis did and not for one minute has she ever forgotten about him.

I am so proud of my daughter, I cannot wait to show her the website today, she is going to be so happy.

We miss you Dennis.

Madison we are so very proud of you all the time, but we are especially proud to know that you were thinking of "Uncle Dennis", and for making him that beautiful cross. I'm sure he loved it Madison and was also happy to know that you were thinking of him at Easter time.

What a wonderful gift for this little girl to be giving Dennis and his family. Not just the gift in itself but her loving spirit. I hope this cross will be protected with something to last for many many years. How nice :)
