Touching

I got a really cool email from Phyllis Gentile-DelVecchio that I wanted to share with everyone.

My son Domenic (who will be 6 years old in May) has been bugging me for a puppy but I kept telling him to wait until my daughter, Vanessa, is a little older because she is just starting to be interested in potty training. I thought it would be too hard to train a 2 year old along with a new puppy.
Anyway, I was reading Dennis' website and he mentioned that all children should have a dog in their lives. He got me thinking and just today I bought my son a little Yorkie Terrier (he is the cutest little thing). I am picking him up on Valentine's Day. He will be so surprised.
So you see, Dennis touched my son's life in a way that will make him such a happy little boy. He would have gotten a dog sooner or later but when I saw the picture of Dennis and his daughter as an infant with a dog, I thought why not get the little puppy my son wants so much?
Your brother was and is so special. It seems his life and legacy will affect people in such a positive way even in death.

I thought this story was awesome and I know Dennis would think so too. Here is a pic of Lucky Gentile-DelVecchio. He is absolutely adorable. Thanks for sharing Phyllis!

Phyllis,
That is amazing! Dennis must really be so touched. This little dog is yet another way of keeping his spirit alive.
Funny, I have a yorkie and Dennis always said how much he loved his feistiness, he always laughed at how small but ferocious he was. I know he loved the breed.
The best part of this story is the dog's name~Lucky! Dennis grew up w/ a Lucky too and Lucky was THE BEST dog our family ever had!
You are a very special person and I can't wait to meet you at the walk!

Dear Phyllis,
I love this story! Dennis is right, every child SHOULD have a dog. Our having a dog has taught my three children to LOVE on a whole other level. What a cute puppy! See you in June at the walk!

Hi Lisa,

I know what you mean. I see the difference in my son already. How responsible he is. When Lucky has an accident he says Mama don't worry he is my dog I will clean it up. My daughter is only 2 and a little more michevious than my son ever was but she is loving too. She can't say Lucky yet so she calls him Cucky. When she wants him to come to her she says come here Cucky baby. We are enjoying him so much. Thanks to Dennis. We already love him like we had him for a lifetime.

Look forward to meeting everyone at the walk. You are a great bunch of people who Dennis was lucky enough to have in life as all of you were to have him.

Phyllis,
You seem like "A Great Person", too. Promise me you'll document the "Cucky Baby" somewhere, that's priceless! Vanessa will get a good laugh out of that one when she's a teenager. See you in June.
