This blog has been established for those of you who love and care about my brother, Dennis M. Rich. Dennis battled sarcoma for over two years. His strength and courage is truly inspiring. This is a piece of his story.
I love the pictures with Roco the boxer. I remember being so amazed that Elise was not intimidated by him. He would jump on her and his paws were so big but even as a baby she didn't seem fazed. I am so glad for all these pictures especially the last one of them on the raft. It captures the happiness they had together and it shows the girls that their daddy did so many exciting things with them. The look on Elise's face tells it all. Dennis loved the hot summer days and everything that came with them. He is missed more everyday...love janie
I never forget the weekend Elise was born. It happened to be one of Dennis' annual golf weekends. He was actually going to see if they could induce me on the following weekend. I was beyond mad at him. Dennis as we all know was the best. To me ,the most caring person, best husband, best father,& best friend, but he also had to do his guy things like the golf trips, etc. So we compromised and he was there for the birth of his Lisi and the next day he went on his golf trip. We worked it out that my sister Jane (thanks Jane)would take me home from the hospital the next day. Looking back I couldn't see Dennis doing anything different. He got see the birth of our daughter and spend some time with his friends. That was what Dennis was all about making things work and making everyone happy. Dennis and me never did things just the way there supposed to be done. We just tried to do the right thing for us and that worked. I would tease him from time to time about the birth of Elise and I would say she's always going to be known as the golf baby. Definelty not from Dennis. Elise will always be Dennis' Lisi, Lisi. I can still hear him saying it.The love he had for Elise and Alana, & Mia was all that mattered to him. Dennis we miss you so much! Love, Jodi oxox
